The format
A day in two halves
A conference that is nothing but a run of presentations loses the room before lunch. The ones that work split the day in two: the morning for what has to be said, the afternoon for what has to be lived. The estate is built for that, because it has both to hand, a room for 200 and 5 hectares of grounds.
The Pavillon du Parc, 350 m² in the middle of the estate, takes the annual general meeting of a mid-sized company, the yearly conference of a network, or the gathering of a company spread across several sites. Once the plenary is over, nobody goes back into a conference centre corridor: everyone goes outside.
The morning
What has to be said
- 9am · ArrivalCoffee in the grounds or at the Pavillon depending on the season, with a signing-in desk if your meeting requires one.
- 9.30am · PlenaryResults, roadmap, votes. Screen, video-conferencing for anyone absent and high-speed Wi-Fi across the estate.
- 11am · Breakout sessionsThe three château lounges take parallel groups, 10 to 30 people each.
- 12.30pm · LunchMade on site, served outdoors when the weather allows.
The afternoon
What has to be lived
The afternoon switches to the team. It is the moment when people who spend the year meeting on video finally talk to each other for real, and the grounds do that job better than a workshop in a room.
- Archery tag: two teams, bows, foam-tipped arrows, and an hour in which the hierarchy disappears
- Blowpipe: the format that gets everyone involved, including the people who do not run
- A treasure hunt across the grounds: challenges spread over the 5 hectares, in teams mixed across departments
- Team games: a football tournament on the lawn, or a mini-olympics when the group is large
Activities are run by our own instructors and take place on the estate, with no transport and no time lost. See all the activities.
What to plan for
Transport, technical set-up and accommodation
Getting two hundred people to the same place raises three questions, and they are better dealt with early. Transport first: our coach partner charters one or more vehicles from Paris, Rouen or Caen, 4 to 150 people each, which avoids two hundred cars in the grounds. The technical set-up next: the lounges have screens and video-conferencing, and for a plenary of this size we agree the sound and the technical arrangements with your supplier during a site visit. Accommodation last: 15 people sleep on the estate, and the rest of the group leaves in the evening or stays nearby.
Questions about conferences
How many people in a plenary?
Up to 200 facing the stage at the Pavillon du Parc, a capacity approved for a 350 m² room. Outdoors, the grounds take 300 to 500 people standing.
Can we hold a formal annual general meeting?
Yes: a seated plenary, a screen, video-conferencing for remote participants, and side lounges for the meetings that come before or after the session.
What activities can you run in the afternoon?
Archery tag, blowpipe, a treasure hunt across the grounds, a football tournament or a mini-olympics, all supervised and organised on the estate. We also build bespoke formats around your objectives, from coaching through to lighter activities. The choice follows the size and the fitness of the group.
What if it rains in the afternoon?
The Pavillon du Parc and its 350 m² take the indoor activities, and the three château lounges take the quieter formats. The programme changes place, not content.
What does a conference cost?
From 170 € excl. VAT per person for a day with lunch, plus supervised activities at 35 € excl. VAT per person from 4 participants. Minimum spend for exclusive use 2,000 € excl. VAT per event.
